program for building your own site? DW? Flash? None?

I've heard Dreamweaver & Flash both are out dated.
Do I believe it? I don't know.
I am a young photographer who wants to have my own site, would love to hear from you about program you use for building your website

A new popular way to build a site is wordpress+plugins. Pretty much anything is possible, and it's a big software eco system with themes and plugins. All web based. Browser plugins help you edit the css of your themes if you wish.

Keeping such a system up-to-date with wordpress updates and plugin updates is important though to stay ahead in terms of software security.
