I was there in the erly 80s, but much to my regret that was before I had my LF camera! The Incan architecture, Spanish colonial towns and churches, jungle, and Andes mountains make it a potential goldmine of images for a LF'er.
IIRC imported film and photographic materials are brutally taxed (My Canon SLR self-destructed so I replaced it with a Kodak point and shoot I purchased from a black market street vendor.)
Its a beautiful country full of beautiful people. I'd love to go back with the 'dorff.

Estimado Terrencio (couldn't resist, I've been studying Spanish all morning),
I travel to Peru with LF 4-6 times a year. Flying into Lima with film or equipment is not a problem, but leaving can be. If you do not want your film x-rayed, take a changing tent. The security people will be happy to accommodate you. If you would like to see what I do in Peru with LF, take a look at my presentation at GEH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P3GXYRhz5s . Or take a look at the new 200 Soles banknote; the drawing on the back is of one of my photos.
Viva Perú!,

Chris - enjoyed your images and lecture.

It has been a dream of mine to some day visit Peru but for an extended period of time with either a medium format of LF camera.

Terrencio - are you from (in) Peru?

Hardly contemporary or active now, but for interesting early-mid 20th century Cuzco photos, see http://martinchambi.org/.

RA Feldman-Thanks! I plan to visit the offices in Cusco next month. Chambí reminds of Enrique Cegarra (sp?) in México, although Cegarra comes a few decades later!
