I've got the opportunity to rescue an Ilford Print Processor which is making its way to the tip.

It looks like this:

and here's a second one

Assuming it works, does anyone know what it is and whether it's worth salvaging? I'm assuming it's a more commercial tool rather than something for low output as I do but it would go in the communal darkroom that myself and a couple of friends are currently putting together.

Cheers!

Get what numbers you can off it & go on apug & ask Simon Galley from Ilford. It's pretty old, but he may know who to ask.
In any case open it up and figure what you can do with it. Check the ph of the deposits in the tanks, ph paper will do. You should be able to deduce what was in where, then fill with water and see what the temp range is. A puzzle, what fun!

Thanks for the tip! Simon came through with the goods. It's massively overkill for our little set up (it'll print 550 sheets an hour) so I suspect we'll be passing on it, which is a shame, but the cost of chemistry for it will probably make my eyes water.

Oh, it's either an Ilford Ilfospeed 2001 or 2240 from what Simon has said.

Get it. You can get a years worth of printing done in one day. Think of all the time you just saved!!

I think it would only be for RC paper. But it's a great machine.
