View Full Version : Low-Profile Tripod Head that uses Hex Plates?

Hi,
I have a Manfrotto 229, I think it's the best tripod head for me for heavier cameras (TK45, 8x10 field); I don't want to get rid of it.
It's mounted on a super-stable Induro, and the set-up is great to work with.
I also have a smaller CF tripod, I use it for travel.
The CF tripod uses a head that takes the newer RC plates, which I'm not overly fond of, as they don't have additional locking screws; the camera is thus able to swivel while mounted.

I also have a 3047 head which is fantastic in its own right, but it's for sale because it sits quite high.
I'm looking for a tripod head that accepts the Manfrotto hex plates and that also has a lower profile than a 3047.

Maybe there's also some way to get a completely different head, but adapt it for hex plates?
This is where I stumble, so I'm turning to you for answers or advice.

Thanks in advance.

Here's the adapter—http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/269979-REG/Manfrotto_625_625_3296_RC0_Hexagonal.html

Use the head of your choice.
