Hello all,

I got this along with a 240mm TeleArton. It seems oxidation got everything stuck.
Should this ring arouns the front thread be turned ccw to release the name plate?

Thanks!

I seem to remember that there is a set screw somewhere on that aluminum ring to put the notch for the speed in the right place but I dont see it in the photo. You are correct that it screws off CCW.

I made this same question here a few months back but didn't receive answers. So I'll be following this thread. I have a similar shutter but probably smaller. It's for a 150mm lens.

Still haven't been able to turn the ring. Neal, what should I turn? Inner ring or name plate ring?

Tom, I got both 150mm Xenar and this along with a matching Technika III. Both shutters seem to exhibit the same method to apply the Linhof outer ring.

Mine is a Voigtländer Apo-Lanthar. Nice lens but the shutter is frozen. You can see my original post here; http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?80511-Help-opening-a-Linhof-Compur
I have a Xenar in a more conventional Compur (non-Linhof and non-Rapid). This shutter I could dismount and clean without too much trouble.

Fact is, I found instructions for opening a great number of models of Compurs. This information is freely available on the net. But they don't cover these Linhof models.

No reasonable amount of force moved either ring.

The inner ring had a hole. At first I didn't see a screw, it was a very short one. Took the screw out and the inner ring came loose. The screw was fot pressure only.

Found this: three screws holding the name plate. Easy.

This oxidation prevented the shutter speed dial from moving. Scrubbed and solved the problem.

That's a great link, for Compurs and for everything else!!!

Alô Coisas. Thanks for the information. I had taken the screw out, but the ring refused to move so I was afraid to break something and left it at that. Now I see that I have to "convince" somehow the ring to budge.

The link that Stefaan sends is great for many models for Compurs, except for these Linhof models which I haven't found there.
