View Full Version : Cleanly adding an PC-sync terminal to a lens board
I have seen a lens board or two with a clean/flush mounted PC sync terminal and would like to do the same. I have a Packard that I currently use in front of the lens with a hacked up old pc cord. I would like to move the packard to the back of a 6x6 board and have a clean little pc connection on the face of the lens board. Does anyone know of a supplier who will provide just the terminal (thinking similar to a push to reset circuit breaker flush install)?

I searched high and low and can't find one at any of the places I usually find electronic stuff. Maybe call one of the strobe companies, or a camera repairman in your area.
How about ripping the PC terminal off something like this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/621573-REG/Interfit_STR115_STR115_Hot_Shoe_Adapter.html) (Hot shoe adapter with PC terminal).
domaz,
Ive thought about it but I need the scavenged terminal mount from behind. I could hack something up, but many of the terminals are ultrasonically welded in to a plastic housing--that would be a mess.

Mattk,
try giving these guys a holler. They might know how/where to source what you're looking for. They might even have it:

Matt, after you've bought your stash, care to share your source?

You could try this: http://www.procamerarepair.com/NIKON-D200-D300-DIGITAL-SLR-CAMERA-FLASH-PC-SYNC-TERMINAL-SOCKET-OEM-AUTHENTIC-REPAIR-PART_p_4108.html

Thats exactly what I plan on doing. I think its the same part--different source. Not sure if that on comes with a lead soldered to the back or if its a contact connection--I found a few with the a pigtail off the back already.
B&H also sells them:

I did the same thing to my old Ansco/AGFA, but I used a 1/8" mono jack so I can use them with my pocket wizards.
