Half a day in Stuttgart/Ehningen

In January I'll have an afternoon free after arriving on an overnight flight. We fly in to Stuttgart, but our hotel is in Ehningen. Any suggestions as to what to see/do/photograph if I can escape from the local sales guy? I won't have a car, so it'll have to be accessible by foot, public transit, or taxi. And I don't speak German, which is bound to make finding obscure places even more exciting.
