I saved a couple of settings after getting my V700, but now the save as seems to be greyed out. What's weird is if I go to my save settings it not greyed out. But the minute I change anything it greys out.

The Epson tech always say to download the driver again, but I not sure I believe them as they are not that competent usually. Here is some screenshots. thanks, help appreciated!

If you're using a Mac, turn the scanner on and open Software update under the Apple menu.
It should open an update for scanners and printers.
If you've already done that, try preferences in Epson Scan.

I hate small bugs like those; they're not that important, but they are very annoying.

thanks Ari, software updates just brings up three apps I have no intersest in updates since I got on Mountain Lion. I don't see a way to delete them.

I turned on scanner from the scanner, but now the green light is blinking and the software does not work.

I suggest that you get hold of Epson and tell them you want to manually uninstall the scanner hardware driver and the Espon Scan software. Some times, installing a new driver will not remove old files, and that can cause conflicts. I believe you need to get rid of all the old files and then download and install the new hardware driver and Epson Scan.

Thanks Preston, so just deleting the old driver is not a good idea? What files are you referring to?

Maybe do what I had to do for my printer: System Prefs>Print&Scan
Remove the Scanner and re-install it from the list.
Good luck

Kevs,

I do not know which files and/or folders need to be removed for a manual uninstall. That's why I suggested contacting Epson.

Ari, your solution will work if removing and reinstalling from System Prefs actually removes the offending file(s) and installs new updated files. Hopefully, it will work so that Kevs doesn't have to go through a manual uninstall.

I am a PC user, but I would still have to contact Epson to inquire about how to manually uninstall driver files.

Every time I call Epson, I have to take a week off from work.

Got an email from Epson guy that finally solved riddle:

To save custom settings, you need to clear "Current Settings" and then type in what you want to call the custom setting.

Glad you figured it out, but my Epson Scan always opens with the last used settings.
