Evening chaps/chapesses,
I received my BTZS tubes about a week ago and tonight was the first opportunity I got to try them out, or "futzing" with them as they were described elsewhere on this forum.
Well, I must say, the futzing was kept to a minimum and I'm very pleased with the results! Developing with the tubes were pretty much effortless and quite good fun too - give them a good old shake and spin them in the tempering bath for 7 minutes. It was great to finally develop in the light so I could ensure my timing was correct and I didn't futz up the process. I only put two sheets through (see below) but honestly, I think I'm in love with this method and my slosher may go into retirement.
I shot the two sheets below with Foma 100 and developed it in D76. I used 30ml of developer, 30ml of water. I was a bit worried when I opened up the tubes even in the dimmest of lights, to put them in the stop bath - I thought "here we go, this is where it goes pear shaped" but not so! It worked great!
Anyway, here's the fruits of my labour.

Not going to set the world alight but the results of the development I was really pleased with. The tones are exactly how I saw them.
Cheers!
Welly, born again futzer.
