The shutter speed does change with the different settings on my Nikon 300 f9. The T and B work, but otherwise all other shutter speeds seem to be at the highest. Any suggestions other than ship it to Nikon? Thanks

It sounds like the speeds escapment isn't engaging. How old is the lens/shutter? A simple CLA would take care of the problem. Any good repair shop will be able to handle the job.
