negative waxing

I'v heard about negative waxing over the years but never tryed it. Dose it improve your negs in some way?

I've only been heard of it being done for paper negatives, with which it improved light transmission/transparency. I can't imagine that it would do anything for standard celluloid negatives, though.

I don't think negatives would benifit from waxing but I regularly wax my prints with a pure carnuba wax and it makes them a bit more brilliant (glossy dried mat) and adds a bit of atmospheric protection. Paul
