I read threads sometimes asking about loupes. I used to use a plastic lens from a 2x2 slide viewer. But it got old and scratched. I kept looking for a replaceme nt. I didn't want to pay a lot for one so I purchased an 80mm enlarging lens. It is an old lense but it sure makes a nice loupe. I paid $12 for it and it works great. Just a thought. And another thing that I find nice is that I can look all the way to the corners of the GG and not be stuck looking at the GG flat on. I can look at an angle. Really helps when using my 90mm f8. Can't do that with a l ot of loupes. James

I am looking at the Peterson Viewing Lens system sold by B&H that has a 6x6 field of view and 6x magnification. I think it is based on a 85 mm lens (correct me if I'm wrong). Does anyone have experience on using this for GG focusing?

Here's a nice web site that describes the Peterson Viewing Lens system:

If I recall, this loupe costs only slightly more than a Schneider 4x at B&H.
