Where to buy raw chemicals - For Pyrocat HD

Hi All,

I would like to experiment with mixing Pyrocat-HD, and eventually other formulas, from raw chemicals. However the prices I am seeing in the normal photo places seem pretty high, or at least they look high to me.

Where can I purchase what I need without getting killed as a newbie chemical purchaser?

Photographers Formulary in Montana carries pyro.

I see catechol on Artcraft's list. That is what I used to mix Pyrocat.

Bostick & Sullivan will ship Catechol to Canada... Via FedEx International Priority service (*But it is not necessarily an 'inexpensive' option)...

Thank you for Bostick & Sullivan, I've placed an order and they were able to offer USPS Global Express Mail (EMS), preferrable to FedEx but still "not inexpensive".

Hoping for the best. Still hoping for a source without having to import.

Artcraft and Bostick & Sullivan. For slightly more than the cost of a 1L kit of Pyrocat HD, you can buy enough materials to make several years worth. Also, spending a little extra for Glycol (for the Part A) will get you a much longer shelf life if you read through Sandy King's work online.
