I have searched, but couldnt find any concrete answers to this issue.

I have some banding on the B+W scans on the Epson V750. I dont have an example right now. I have read that this may be due to dust on the glass?

any other thoughts?

Are you using the flimsy black "Film Area Guide" for full area film/transparency scans directly on the glass, like for 8x10 negs? If anything of yours intrudes into the 1/2 inch band above the white line on the Film Area Guide, you can get all sorts of weird effects, including streaks and banding. The scanner uses that little clear space for some sort of pre-scan calibration, and that space must be kept clear. If you are not using the guide, and put film right up to the top of the glass, same result.

Use the guide. Keep the space above the white line clear. (Does not apply to reflective scans - prints, documents, etc. - or the smaller format film holders.)

Interested in this thread... I picked up a new 750 less than a month ago and am seeing banding when scanning at 2400 DPI (scanning 6x6 negs at the moment). It is frustrating.

A picture says more than 1000 words. It all depends on the pitch and pattern of the banding.

I've been noticing banding as well recently with the wet mount holder and 4 x 5. Don't see it as much with B&W.

I've been using my V750 for over three years (b&w and color scanning) and the only time I've had scanning problems is when I accidentally encroach on that top band of the scanner glass that needs to be left clear of the film or film holder.
