View Full Version : Ilex ring/flange question

I know the "standard" and "Kodak" Ilex shutter have slightly different threads for the lens cells. How about the retaining rings or flanges? Are they the same for the two shutters, or different? At this point I only have non-Kodak Ilex 3 shutters, but one never knows what might show up in the mailbox some day.

I think they are the same, at least for the No. 5's.

When I called Grimes about a #4 Ilex lens mounting flange they said there was a difference between the Kodak Ilex flange and the regular Ilex flange.They also suggested to send the shutter to them to make sure what treads to make if I did not know.

Thank you, I should have thought to look there. I knew the threads for mounting the cells into the shutter differed, but didn't realize the flanges did as well. Live and learn.
