I just returned from Photokina and was pleased to find the booth of Kienzle (kienzle-phototechnik@t-online.de. Dr. Kienzle continues in the family tradition to manufacture brand new enlargers from 6x7 to 10"x10" with color or B & W heads, all sorts of negative holders glassless and with glass as well as full automation as well as enlarging easels. As he is an engineer he states he can also make holders etc for other brand enlargers which may not be available. Although I have a DeVere 8x10 it is nice to know that analogue fans at least still have a high quality source of supply for the enlarging part of their darkroom.

Yes, I've often lusted after their goods.

Now, if I can only get a decent basement, or have one of my kids move out.

Approximately what would the cost be to buy a complete 5x7 enlarger with 4x5 insert from Dr. Kienzle for black-and-white printing for paper sizes ranging from 8x10 inch to 16x20 inch? I'm doing my research for possible purchase of a 5x7 enlarger in the coming couple of years.

I would suggest looking at the photo shows in Toronto.
A friend of mine got a 5x7 Durst enlarger for $100 in the Montreal show last year.
If you want new, well, go here:

or closer to home, here:

There are a number of people in the Toronto area and nearby with 5x7 or 8x10 enlargers.

I wonder how often gets Bob Carnie gets offered an orphaned big enlarger looking for a home...
