Can you use ra4 chemicals in a ilford CAP 40 processor? I thought I heard of someone doing it. Is there different developing time and temp?

thanks

I dont know the time and temps used for RA4, but answer that and you've answered the question of whether the CAP will work. I do know that the later and better ICP-42 will do RA4, but it is adjustable and the CAP isnt.

The CAP 40 is to slow in paper transport (2 min's instead of 45 sec.) to fit the very rapid RA-4 process. Possibly it could be adapted to EP-2 chemistry when that one were in charge. However, there are a number of hobby-packs (Jessops is one of them) of RA-4 chemistry, and at least Jessops lists different developer-possibilities (drum/machine/different temperatures etc) including using it in the EP-2 only Durst RCP-20 processor. Just POSSIBLY it could be used with the Cap 40 as well using lower temp (possibly reducing temp on the cap 40 or disconnecting the heaters).
