In my more than two decades of pro shooting LF I just used BW films two times, and I got them developed by a photographer who is now retired and sold all his lab stuff years ago. Now that I use LF just for enjoyment, I would like to use BW, but in Spain I am complete unable to find any of the classic film processing thanks. Jobo is discontinued and there is not any new old stock in any of the main spanish suppliers. Same with HP Combi Plan. Tray processing seems the only option, but I think it will be prone to scratch film, not to mention it'll be very slow. I'll be using mostly 4x5 and 13x18. Any suggestions?. Thanks in advance.

You could hunt down a Paterson Orbital, but they do tend to go for silly money on ebay. . . Only thing I can suggest is scouring ebay or second hand places; they are UK based but try the following places http://www.theimagingwarehouse.com/Products/Secondhand-Darkroom http://www.secondhanddarkroom.co.uk/ or http://www.mrcad.co.uk

Hope this was of some use.

Put up a WTB here for what you want... I've got what I need. It's shame not more is available.

I would recommend a Jobo 3006 expert drum - it can handle both 4X5 and 5X7, and is by far the best product out there.

Jobo items are not discontinued - and are available new, and used, worldwide form several distributors who ship globally.

Just google 'Jobo expert drum in stock' to find who has any available.

(full disclosure: we sell Jobo products)

Search for Jobo in Germany. Plenty there (new).

HP CombiPlan seem to be still available from http://Silverprint.co.uk and Nova http://www.theimagingwarehouse.com/ProductGrp/CombiPlan-Tanks

If you use them for 4x5 film, make sure not to install the blue washers, which might be supplied, or you will risk film slippage.

Thak you, I was told Jobo was discontinued. I visited the Spanish Jobo importer's web and the matter can be that thy won't import Jobo any more. Please PM me your web

Now all you need to do is choose your developer - may be laziness but I quite like stand processing with Rodinal at the moment, though at the weekend I'll be trying Peter Hogan's Prescysol - http://www.monochromephotography.com

Good question. I´m thinking in making 3-4 identical shots of some locations that are representative of my work, and develop in 3-4 diferent developers. Hope this give me a good start point to know developer's different "flavours".
