Hi Frank-

It doesn't work with a 47 SA XL mounted on a flat lensboard on the WA Focusing Device on a Master Technika. The 47 XL has a longer Flange focal length and would be more likely to work than the standard 47 Super Angulon.

Frank,

I have used a 47XL occasionally on a flat lensboard and it was manageable although very awkward. Focussing was by moving the front standard by hand, not very smooth, sometimes the alignment was not perfect perhaps because the front mechanism was a bit worn out. But most shots were ok.

Definitely no.
On the Master Technika Classic, the Wide Angle Focusing Attachment (ref.# 002555) can only be used with wide angle lenses in the range 55-65 mm. (I use it with the Schneider SA 58XL).
The Master Technika 2000 has a built-in wide-angle additional focusing track and therefore can use extreme wide-angle lenses down to 35 mm.
On both cameras, these lenses can only be focused with the groudglass.

There is a new lensboard available for the Classic which has a built-in helicoid to focus the lens. Using this board, with the Linhof supplied and mounted 47mm it can be used on the Master Technika Classic as well as the IV and V.

Bob,

What's the price and will it allow a 65 on a Tech IV and V as well?

Each focal length lens requires its' own lensboard/focus mount combination. So you can not use different focal lengths in the same board/focus mount. Since that is the case for 55 to 65mm lenses it is less expensive to use the Wide Angle Focus Device. For lenses shorter then 55mm the only method would be the new, dedicated lens/lensboard/focus mount.
