Hi, I decided to go with a Manfrotto 410 Geared head and I'm looking for a tripod now. I have a Shen Hao 4x5 and schneider 210mm which weights 6.49 pounds in total. I'm 5' 11 and a trekker. Prefer a light weight tripod and prbably gonna get a used one to save some money. I'm thinking around $300 but cheaper the better...Please recommend me one Thanks,

I've been very happy with my Manfrotto 055MF3 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/353679-REG/Manfrotto_055MF3_055MF3_Magfiber_Pro_Carbon.html) with my 410. Its discontinued now and maybe a deal. I don't remember what I paid for it. It is solid, lightweight and indestructible.

The replacement (which I have not seen-it appears to now have magnesium castings) sells for like $276 see:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?sku=584476&Q=&O=&is=REG&A=details

I've got mine on a well used Gitzo Studex that I found for cheap at an auction a few years ago. Even though it is the metal version and not terribly light weight, it is still reasonably easy for this old fart to handle on long days at some architectural shoots with several location treks as well as on moderate trails with my Zone VI mounted aboard for landscape work.

I had my 410 on a Gitzo 1325 for years, today it's on a Feisol (sorry I don't have the tripod handy to give you a model number but it's one with no center column and weighs very little, I'd guess maybe 2-3 pounds).
