Kodak Specialist 3

Hi all

I just picked up a Kodak Specialist 3 camera and cant find any info on it. Anyone know anything about these cameras?
Came with a Kodak Ektar f7.7 203mm, Prontor SVS shutter and a Zeiss Tessar f4.5 135mm with Compur shutter + 2 double sided plates.

Unfortunately the Zeiss is jammed and the Kodak Ektar seems a little temperamental but thought it was worth a try at £60 for the lot at a flea market.

Is it worth getting the Zeiss lens serviced (one small scratch but otherwise clear) or should I just try and find a replacement?

The camera seems to be in good working condition and all tilt, shift, swing function smoothly and lock in place securely. The bellows have been heavily patched on the corners but its done well and only found one small leak.

Any info would be appreciated.

You have found a very nice camera setup for a sweet price. It is worth having the shutters serviced by a reputable camera or shutter repair shop.

Depending on how long the lens and shutters have been stored away, the shutters tend to develop problems. A good cleaning, lube and adjustment (CLA), should get them working properly.

This camera is very similar to the Calumet series 400. I am not aware if the bellows or lens boards are interchangeable between the two models.

Thanks for the reply Jose. Had a look online at the Calumet 400 and it does look very similar. Seen a mention that the Calumet was derived from Kodak design so you could be right that components may fit the Kodak Specialist 3. Can anyone shed more light on this?? Cant seem to find any info online about the specialist 3.

That's a pretty neat looking camera, what can be considered a classic now.
