A neat concept. Similar to what has been done with radio telescopes for decades and is starting to be done with optical telescopes recently.

It is not the number of pixels that qualifies something as "Large Format".

But rather the surface area of the sensor/film.

What they are doing is basically a multi camera setup that is exposed with a single lens.

Sort of like, well, early Technicolor camera meets Cinerama.
