Hi guys!

Recently I managed to obtain a really dirty 12" Aero Ektar from the Bay, with its shutter housing mount and all.

I am looking to do 8x10 with it, but currently I am figuring out how I can remove the lens from the mount? There does not seem to be any set screws, is it just unscrewing the entire lens assembly?

Thank you!

Further research online shows it to be from a Fairchild K-19b Night Aerial Camera.

Removing the lens from the shutter will most likely yield two separate loose "cells". To use it without the shutter housing you'll need to make a barrel type mount to hold the two cells the right distance apart, and some sort of aperture unless you only want to shoot wide open. F/2.5 will really be something if you can manage it, best of luck !

Hi guys, managed to get an answer! The lens elements unscrew from the mount in separate pieces, so another barrel will have to be made unfortunately.

Haha, sorry about that!

Thanks for the help, now to find a machinist who can do another housing for me. Will definitely shoot wide open all the time (:

I doubt it would cost that much more to have the machinist add a slot for waterhouse stops. You could wait to make the stops until you decide you need them. We don't always need "options" but they're nice to have them when we do.;)
