I am wondering if anyone on the Large Format Forum has, or knows someone who might have, some of this paper in 11x14" or larger size. If the paper has been stored at room temperature, there is a good likelihood that it will not perform satisfactorily. If however it has been kept in cold storage, I am hopeful it will provide good performance. I understand that people who are storing such paper are likely saving it for a special project - just like the one in which I am involved. It would be a GREAT help to me if I could obtain some of this paper. Thanks to all in advance for contemplating this request. I am most grateful.

The same paper was also sold under the name Agfa Insignia.

You can PM me, email info(at)johnsexton.com or call 1-831-659-3130.

Many thanks!

Hmmm. Sounds familiar. Lemme check. I have a bunch of Agfa paper in the freezer but, don't remember the name.

Oh, I forgot I started an inventory and have that file here at work. It hasn't been updated in about six months though but, I don't recall using much Agfa if any since then.

Many of have found that Record Rapid/Insignia has very poor keeping properties so don't expect it to be OK even when frozen.

I used some about seven months ago and it was awesome. I lucked out.

Actually, it was the Portiga that I used.

It's a really beautiful paper.

Speaking of Insignia, does anyone know of a currently available product with the same tones/properties? Insignia was my favorite paper when it was taken off the market.

Thanks!

I doubt if there are any stocks of Record-Rapid worth using for important images, due to aging even if it was stored carefully. It is probably better to look for a current graded paper if that is preferred over variable-contrast papers.

I have never tried it, but Forte Fortezo-Museum paper is said to have had some similarities to the original Agfa Record-Rapid and if stored carefully, it might be worthwhile searching for instead.

Do you have any of the Portriga Rapid left?
