If you also do 11x14, 30x35 would be a great size. 28cents/12x20 (two per sheet), plus two free 11x14's, or 17cents/12x20 (cutting three 12x20's)

Otherwise the 24x30 would be 18cents/12x20 (two per) -- a better deal if shipping and handling bumps up the cost of the 30x35 significantly.

Have fun!

It looks like they also offer 24x30" @ $35.80/100 sheet box. If you're only using it for 12x20, you would have less waste with this option.
I have a 12x20 and a Rotatrim. We look forward to your feedback!

I suspect those are centimetres.
the biggest x-ray available size seems to be 14"x36", enough for cutting one 12x20, two 8x10 and three 4x5 from every sheet.

It shows the quotation symbol (") after each dimension.
This symbol is commonly used to represent inches.

24x30 and 30x35 are most commonly found as metric sizes in x-ray film.
plus, if you compare their price, it would make little sense if they were really all inches... buy double size and you save 25%...too good to be true

Green Speed Film
14"x17" 100/box $72.95

Green Speed Film
30"x35" 100/box $55.59

I'm pretty sure is typo. There is no X ray film out there bigger than the 14in x36 in , if so I would be all over it. I wish they can run some 20x24 in. Either green or blue they will work best with Alternative process. Please keep me posted if you hear the 20x24in Xray in production. That would be awesome!

Something larger than 14x36 would have to be for veterinarian applications. I looked at x-ray cassettes (http://www.pnwx.com/Accessories/Cassettes/Aluminum/), and 14x36 is the largest made. A person could make a holder which holds two sheets, though, with that 3M tape in the center to keep the film in place.

I just dropped an email to a Chinese xray film maker, they advertise custom sizes are available upon request. Will report if they answer.

I'm driving, so I have some time...
I called to confirm, but they don't have any of it in stock right now to look at. I should receive an email tomorrow to let me know if it's an accurate price and description.

update on the Chinese xray film.

both 12"x20" and 20"x24" are available as a special order, as I suspect any other custom size is.
boxes are 100 sheets each. minimum order is 100 boxes.
price per box:
12x20 : $ 67 (minimum order is $ 6.700, price per sheet $ 0,67)
20x24 : $ 135 (minimum order is $ 13.500, price per sheet $ 1,35)

Thanks Andrea for the info. Great price for a lifetime photography enjoyment unless we have a group purchase for a 100 boxes. I'm in for 10 boxes if someone consider the order or perhaps a mini authorized dealer.

They can also accept smaller orders like 20 boxes but price is 60% higher.
Still it would be between $ 1,00 (12x20) and $ 2,10 (20x24) per sheet plus shipping and customs if any.
Shipping by DHL from China for a five 100 sheet boxes package is around $ 170 to US, $ 190 to EU for 12x20, possibly some more for 20x24.
Payment should be by bank T/T or paypal.

what do you think? time for a group order?
They can take care of separate shippings

p.s. in a week, no answer from the US dealer mentioned by the OP
some of you guys in the US perhaps could contact ZZ Medical and ask
http://www.zzmedical.com/zencart/contact_us.html
maybe they also can do special order and you save some money on shipping and customs.

Andrea - I much appreciate your effort!

Is this green one sided emulsion film?
Could you ask them if 30x40cm is a standard item?
I've got the camera, film holder and development tube - but no film!!
Thanks.

Hi Steven,

the film is a general green sensitive medical x-ray film, which has green sensitive emulsion layer on both sides.
They list 30cm x 40cm film as a standard item, but I've not asked for the price of it.

I've just received an email from Fujifilm Europe Marketing.
They are asking me the planned purchase quantity in order to make an investigation on manufacturing capability and cost.
I will report here as they give me a quotation.
Anybody interested in 12x20, 16x20 and 20x24 sizes please contact me with a rough indication of the amount of film required.

Also, since there will be a minimum order quantity I suspect our best bet is to order the biggest size 20x24 and then cut it to smaller sizes.
If you know anyone in US or EU who can safely do the job, please report here.

p.s. so far the only answer I've got from US dealers is CSXOnline, they are not interested in taking such orders.

I have just hold of a box (100) of Agfa green ( EASXM Ortho CP-G ) which will get me started on the 30x40cm camera - but info about price and retailers/online ordering in Europe would be great for next time around.

update for all the interested parties.
neither Fujifilm nor the Chinese producer are able to accept orders for ULF sizes, the latter having set the minimum order quantity at 50.000 sheets.
so at present it seems there is nothing bigger than 14x36" on the market.
will check with Foma also
