Forgive me if I am downright ignorant...

But is Plus-X no longer with us?

I can't recall hearing about it being discontinued... When (If it in fact is) did that happen?

Gone, like the dodo bird.

Went quietly, unlike Kodachrome. But Paul Simon didn't sing about PX ;)

went last year, and prices have doubled or tripled from stated last market values. FYI

Yep, sadly gone. Freestyle had some 35mm house branded Plus-X for a while in 24 shot lengths (which I prefer anyway in 35mm) so I picked up some of those and have a few rolls left.

I like FP4+ just about as well in 35mm and 120 though. I never got to shoot Plus-X in LF. :(

Thats what I get for buying several 100' rolls.

When I go to order some more... Poof! Gone!

Sad... I loved it for 35mm.

Anyone suggest a reasonable alternative for small format?

Plus-X is still here. It is just here that went away... ;)

I have 5 rolls left of the Freestyle Premium 100 (Plus-X) left (24 exp). Anyone want to trade for in-date TMax 100 or 400 (36exp) one-for-one? US only as I do not want to pay for international shipping. But I will give Speedgraphic guy first crack since this is his post.

Kept at room temp, expiry date is 07/2012

I would also consider in-date Ilford 35mm 36 exp

And while I think about it, would consider a trade for Kodak or Ilford 120 B&W film...one for one.

FP4 - excellent film. Of course Acros is a great medium speed film but the response makes it quite different from Plus-X.

If you don't do the deal with Vaughn... and ask nicely, I'll tell you the name of a shop in LA that had lots of it on their shelf about a month ago.

Plus-X 35mm was discontinued a few months ago; the 120 version was axed a few years ago. B&H has the 24 exp rolls in stock;
Unique Photo has both the 24 and 36.

Sounds like I'll just keep the Plus-x I have and let the students use it next year...
