I'm going to process my first negs in 510 pyro in BTZS tubes. Delta 100 - 8x10. I have a few questions.
1. Should I presoak?
2. Should I use distilled water?
3. Do I use a stop bath of water bath?
4. Is Ilford Hypam fix OK?
5. I'm was going to start with the time for D76 stock as a starting time. But I will be printing on VC paper so should I go a bit longer?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Rich

Hi Rich,

I defer to Ilford on the presoak question, and I think they recommend against. I never use a stop bath, but it won't hurt anything. Hypam is fine. D-76 times should get you in the ballpark for 510-Pyro 1:100. When printing on VC paper, it's normal to use some magenta filtration, so don't overdevelop trying to get a negative that prints without magenta. Good luck!

Thanks Jay. And no, I won't overdevelop. As per our last conversation.
