View Full Version : Sinar Rail Clamp Question

Just got a clean Sinar X from KEH. I usually keep the rail clamp for my F2 attached to the Sinar pan-tilt head. When I am not using the camera, I loosen the clamp and pull it off the rail, leaving it and the pan-tilt head on the tripod. The rail clamp on the X looks like the same clamp as on the F2, i.e., not a rail clamp II. But it will not loosen up enough to pull off the rail. Is this a defective clamp, or did Sinar change the later versions of the clamp so it can not be pulled off the rail.
I have several rail clamps, including a couple of the ?latest? ones and a couple of the older plastic handle version.
They all come off easily.

I could always remove them on the various Sinaratia I've owned.

I've only had 4 rail clamps, but they all came off when I wanted them to.
The great part of this is that you got it from KEH. Assuming you act in a timely manner, they have a good return policy. Return it and get something that works as it should.

KEH always makes good. I just wanted to make sure this is a bug, not a new feature. :)

Explained the problems to KEH and they authorized a pre-paid return. Always good folks to deal with.
