I've had some good "digital success " recently and needed to be humbled by analog. 2014 has been a "one step forward two steps back" kind of year and my photography has suffered. I've had several "fujiroid" holders loaded and gathering dust and today I decided to burn through the loaded film. I always seem to have a few unexposed exposures after I have tripped the shutter. I'm thinking that the "white pullout film tabs" are out of order and I'm pulling out an unexposed sheet under the sheet that I have just exposed? I always get some sort of "uniqueness" when dealing with analog film packs, whether intended or not. Shooting with 100 year old RB Graflex SLR's might have something to do with it.
The first picture is a FP 100C "strait" scan. The second picture is a FP 3000B scan with fake wet plate effects applied, but the "analog artifact" in middle is original. Neither of the pictures are very good but just had the urge to burn through some instant film.
I'm sure many may suffer from the same "condition" from time to time.
Regards,
Michael

Rather than try to distinguish between the 4x5 and 3x4 entries in this thread, I'm moving the whole thread to the Everything Else image forum. For those of us who have a bit of 4x5 left, I suppose we would start another thread in the Large Format image forum, but it makes sense to me to just keep extending this thread.
When New55 comes out (ever the optimist, I am), we might start a whole new series with that unique material.

Does a New55-a-roid qualify? Here's my 2nd of 3 shots today, and the only one with a full image:

This is a scan of the negative, scanning all the way to the edge (which I normally don't do, but wanted to show the whole thing). The positive is a little lower in contrast, but pretty good. My Microtek M1 isn't set up for scanning documents, so I can't scan the positive without digging out the manual and learning how to use it as a normal flatbed.

AFAIK the 4x5 Fuji (like FP-100C45) is NOT out of production it's just not exported outside of Japan any longer, it's still available in Japan. I export Velvia50 in 4x5 and 8x10 in group buys (which was also wrongly rumored to be discontinued), so if you need any of that I could probably inquire with my Japan contact if they could also get the instant 4x5 stuff.
Also, Raymond, as long as your Arca-Swiss has a decent spring in the ground glass, the normal Fuji holders / Polaroid holders will work fine (mentioned in the quote). There no special adapter they I know of that you would need different from anyone else. Good luck!

New55 instant film
By the way, I have written a pdf of instructions on how to use New55 instant film, so if anyone wants that, pm me and I'll email it to you.
(Because I photographed the whole process, the pdf is 2Mb, which is above the forum's 400Kb limit for pdf attachments unfortunately.)
Actually I have just worked out I can compress the New55 pdf to make it small enough to attach, so here it is.
The photos are a bit fuzzy in this compressed version, but the instructions are still clear.

Maybe some don't know what a BIG SHOT is, a cheap plastic fixed focus plastic lens box that can only be used with Magicubes (http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Flashcubes#Flashcubes), which make flash without any electricity. This thing is so cheaped made, it doesn't have rollers for processing, just 2 plates to squeeze the film.
http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Polaroid_Big_Shot
I got a new one as gift and finally got Magicubes today, it was a lot of fun to point, do the BIG SHOT shuffle and flash. Never had one back when I didn't used to hang out at Studio 21 and Andy Warhol.
Never too late. Then I ran the scans through a one shot facial enhancement program and let it do it's thing without touching, adjusting anything. Hilarious.

Sorry, for some reason I had thought this was a LF thread after the split and that only old 4x5 Polaroid and FP100c45 type films and 8x10 Polaroid/TIP were for here. I was just surprised to see "RB67" that's all, no biggie, just a realization that I could post "test" shots here if I wanted.

I have a couple bigshots that both had the rollers. They were cheaply made from a total cost standpoint, but the engineering behind getting them to that point is pretty impressive! Serious optimization on the part of polaroid. The best part of them is the 5.5" baselength rangefinder which can be cannibalized for other uses.
And to add to this thread:

I heard a rumor about one LFPF member testing Instax...gasp!
Dunno what rumor you heard, but FWIW, I've been tinkering with Instax a bit - I've done some initial fiddling with one of the Fuji Instax Mini cameras and also have one of the new Lomo Instax Wide cameras on the way. Nothing really to show for it yet - have had too many other work and photographic things on my plate these past few weeks - but Instax is so different from my usual photographic diet, I'm looking forward to seeing what I can make of it.
In terms of new type Roids, I wonder if New55 counts. It's designed to replace Polaroid Type 55, so its definitely in the Roid family, but it's more semi-instant than instant. You have to peel it and put it into a tray of fixer to finish it. The negative is higher quality than the print, but I like the antique-looking prints as well. Here is a reversed neg, and a print, and some instructions on using New55 in case anyone is interested.

By the way (okay, this is probably lowering the seriousness of the thread a bit!!!) I like using Instax mini as a party camera. It's just a silly bit of fun, but the ladies love it...

Agree. That's a great shot.
Thanks guys. I've started a photo album this year that I want to fill with one instant photo for each day of 2016. This photo is my favorite so far.
One reason for this project is to get really comfortable with my Super Graphic and learn large format photography (including movements and lighting with flashbulbs). So I got a Fuji instant film back for that camera.
But I also carry a 440 or 450 Polaroid camera around for snapshots in b&w or color. And that's how I ended up with this photo.

suggested help re: Fuji film problem---I have had several packets of film (bw & color) in my Polaroid 405 holder which have been unusable because I have had some difficulty pulling out the white tabs, hence those remaining films are useless as I am not able to get to them. The white tabs are fragile, not sturdy enough IMO.. When the white tabs are broken, torn, I even have resorted to using tweezers trying to pull the remaining tab out of the Polaroid holder--even taking the holder into the darkroom the extract the white tab which resulted in failure.
Any suggestions regarding the pulling out the white tab of paper other than pulling it out smoothly and straight. Have others experience this same problem I am outlining?? Your help please.

Does this stand a snowballs chance of actually affecting anything? If it does I'll take the time to sign it.

No. Fuji obviously has decided they are not making enough money on it.

Who knows? Normally I wouldn't think it could work but Fuji is the one film manufacturer that HAS brought back previously discontinued film due to demand before.
It's kind of like chicken soup at a funeral - it's probably too late and won't help, but it can't possibly hurt.

Last sheet of the first box of this film, the "goo spread" pattern seems to be the same on all of the sheets, so I think I will look into the rollers in the film holder before I shoot some more. The positive was almost useable on this last sheet, negative is nice but does have a fair amount of black spots which don't show on the small image scanned. Interesting material and I will be ordering another box.

664 is really beautifully subtle film, but I haven't been able to get an expired pack to work in years. This is one I shot back in 2013. May actually be the last time I got a good pack, come to think of it.

Great to see expired Polaroid film still working. A few posts back there were some comments about the white tabs breaking on Fuji instant film. It's true, the first few are definitely too tight. I find I have to pull those first few very carefully, and as long as I remember to do that, they're fine. Here's one where I forgot to do that:

Yes... same one. I agree the solarization are very cool -- and pretty random -- it's hard to predict when it will happen. I got lucky with the "locust". ha.

I used Fotospeed Fotodyes:

I found them quite hard to use, there may be easier methods ... or maybe hand tinting is always tricky!

Elsewhere on this forum was a comment on the 'Black Sun' capabilities of Fuji 100-c, "Did you know? This film exhibits a rare photographic characteristic where massive over-exposure actually makes the image go dark? Have you seen Ansel Adams' "Black Sun" image? Same thing. Very cool."
I shot these images years ago, and have them hanging on my wall. I don't remember the particulars, except they were shot with Mamiya RB67 which leaves 25% of the film unused.

Old Polacolor (pack film) shot in 2017...
Camera: SINAR P2
Lens: SINAR SINARON MC 210MM ƒ/5.6
Shutter: SINAR
Back: Polaroid 405*
Exposure: 1/60 @ ƒ/11
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4223/34102956733_4f3b43b702_z.jpg
Light leak...
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4248/34102956993_abc567c935_z.jpg
*Polaroid 405 backs work quite poorly on SINAR P series cameras. The back rubs against the rear standard's frame when shooting in horizontal and shooting in portrait mode two creates 2 very frustrating issues: A) It is virtually impossible to remove the dark-slide from the back when the back is mounted with the dark-slide down and B) It is difficult it not impossible to use the back in a dark-slide up position as the back (film extraction end) rubs against the base of the rear standard. I had a spacer made some years ago but it's only 1 inch thick (25.4mm), and while this makes shooting in landscape mode a breeze, it's still difficult if not impossible to shoot portrait mode unless you're willing to burn film by removing the back (sans dark-slide) after each shot. I should have had a 3" spacer made but the machine shop wanted a small fortune and why would I do that when 54, 55 and 59 were still readily available (at that time). The only real solution to using a SINAR P & Polaroid 405 back in vertical, is to rotate the camera 90 degrees. Sad but too true. One simple solution to the shooting vertical issue is using a SINAR F front standard mounted at the rear of the camera (with the swing adjusting lever mounted towards the lens) but landscape mode still requires a spacer.

Just received the 4X5 Instax Wide motorized back from Zach Horton at Mercury Camera. Very impressive, I am still waiting for a 4X5 ground glass viewer for exact fosus and composition. Will be posting images shortly. Looks like it will work on Toyo monorail cameras with a recessed lens board with lenses from 75mm and longer and normal bellows. Bag bellows offers no advantage with 75mm lens as back focus is the same at maximum bellows compression. With longer lenses, yes, a bag bellows could allow extensive movement.

Polaroid T55 ‘98 expiry
Graflex Super D
Buhl 250mm f/2.9
It has a European feel to it (at least to me), very nice!
Some photographs in downtown Dahlonega, GA. Will be taking these little vignettes and mounting them on wood and adding a chain to hang, like little ornaments.
Lomography Diana Instant Square + 20mm Fisheye, 55mm wide-angle, or 75mm "glass" lens, some + warming filter. Instax Square:

Kodak Aero Ektar wide open on Graflex Speed Graphic and expired Polaroid 55.
Thanks GoldMark. I emulated Instagram there :).
The Instax shots are being used for one-off hanging souvenirs I will be displaying at the local gallery I am a member of. I glued them to wood and made a hanger out of chain:

Cell phones sometimes rotate images for some reason when posted here
I always run them through PS to make sure they stand up straight
I will be shooting my old Fujiroid this Spring, when color returns...

Yup, it got me. I should just scan them.
Well Fujiroids are now "Instax" so here's two Instax photos I took tonight during a little NYE car show downtown. '36 Benz and Jeep Wagoneer, taken with Diana F+ Instant Square and 55mm lens at f/11, about 5-20 second exposures:

Making my morning espresso. Diana Instant + 55mm lens set at 2m + close-up filter (about 1 foot away), 20-second exposure (about as long as the pull lasts):
