Hey all:

I have an 8x10 metal camera with a round red logo with a "C" letter in the middle. So far there is no other name on the camera, and while waiting for the seller to get back possibly weeks I am wondering if you guys know the manufacturer name. I tried to look up google to no avail. Calumet? Cambo? Canham? Caltar? I'll post picture of the logo tonight.

Any idea?

Thanks guys.

Probably Calumet. You can see their old catalogs on cameraeccentric.com

thank you Jon. I looked up the catalog and it is similar to but identical, at any rate the Calumet's logo then is different than the Calumet's current logo so I surmise it probably is Calumet logo. if anyone else has infor please let me know. thanks all.

edit: yup it is a Calumet camera looked like this one http://www.thsimagery.com/calumet8x10.htm

The famous Green Machine. Why didn't you say so in the first place? : - )

I have a Calumet "black beast" - it is really heavy for field work - but once it is set up it won't move around. Which my old wood 8x10 did. Also it will take large heavy lenses - which don't work very well on a light wood camera - at least the one I had.
