I received a Zone VI compensating timer (without any instructions) in a darkroom equipment purchase, and want to make sure I understand how it works. I assume that it changes from actual clock time based on variance in temperature from some preset norm, probably 68 degrees F.

Can someone in the know please confirm if I am correct?

Thanks.

Yes, the norm is 68F. Then you have three settings: real time, compensation for prints,
and compensation for film. A great little device. Just be carfeful that the sensor spot
on the tray probe is always submerged.

I did quite a bit of testing on this device, and that pretty close to the norm that I found.
