Hi,

I'm a total newbie, so I hope you will bear with me here.

Info on Prontor shutters is hard to find, so I wonder if anybody could help me regarding max sync speed on the Prontor Professional 1. Speeds are 1 s to 1/125 s, but with no clue to sync speed.

1/125 it is a leaf shutter so all speeds are x synched.

All leaf shutters (as far as I am aware) will sync. with flash right up to their fastest speeds.

X synch, yes. M synch, maybe, if the shutter has a x/m switch or contacts.

It should work, in theory. But M (or any other bulb sync) exposure at short times will depend on whether the burn properties of the bulb still match the table printed onto the box - at short times, you are closing the shutter before the bulb has burned down, and if age has caused the bulb's curve to drift from the specification, you'll be off in a unpredictable way. Given the age of most flash bulbs, it may be wiser to use them at or near their full burn duration (i.e. the longest time given for them).

Thanks to all!

I picked 1/60 for some macro shots. Developing the film tonight... :)
