This is a straight scan (meaning: no colour corrections) of a 8x10 Fuji Provia 100, expired 2/2010, but always kept in the fridge (at least by me, and I understood from the seller he always kept it in the fridge also; it was a professional photographer).

Do you think the colour is ok ? How about the pink shine on the snow near the top of the rose ? Could it be reflexion of the colour on the snow ?

I developed with the Tetanal E6 chemistry and scanned with Epson scan.

Thanks,
Stefan.

On my screen, the snow has an overall magenta cast. Some pink is definitely from the petals, but the green leaves seem flat, too.

2010 aint't that old, trust me. I'm shooting stuff from the 90's.

Looks fine to me man.

It does look like the red is reflecting onto the snow.

Color casts are so easy to fix in PS anyway. I wouldn't be worried at all, unless the whole image was covered in a purple mask or something. :)

Stefan,

Keep in mind that your mind can play tricks on you with colour.

We think that snow is white, so we tend to see snow as white, even though there might be a coloured reflection on it.

The "problem" comes when films literal rendering differs from our perception.

Perhaps this is what happened here?

(For what it's worth, I quite like the shadow colour).
