a few years ago i thought i bookmarked a site that was filled with
stereoviews and non stereoviews of people in "old professions" ( les petits metiers )
i know eugene atget did something similar when he documented old paris
for the library and archives, but this wasn't him ...
the photographer was an armenian guy and his son, probably around the same time ... the 1890s/1900
and the city they photographed was besancon france.

does anyone know who i am talking about, and do you have a link to the site?

thanks !

john

Irving Penn made a "small trades" series, and through this bit of information I found Atget and August Sander mentioned as having done something similar previously. Maybe via this bit of information you can find the path to your guy…

Other names in the same path: John Thomson, Milton Rogovin, Bill Owens.
