I know Type 54 is ISO 100 and coaterless, while Type 52 is ISO 400 and coated. Aside from those technical considerations, what is the difference in the way the prints look? Sharpness? More latitude? Better shadow detail? Less burned out highlights? Anything else? TIA.

52 has a lot more contrast. 54 is similar to the print you get with 55 P/N. More normal scale.

As stated above, 54 is more lifelike and it is a true 100 speed. I have exposed chromes and gotten perfect chromes with the exposure of the 54. The new 52 (black sleeves) are closer to a higher latitude but still a bit on the contrasty side (hot highlights). They both are nicer than the old 52 of the past. The sharpness is really good on both.
