Dear Dan:

What development technique are you using? I had similar results when using vertical film racks with 8x10 film. I began pre-soaking, and using more agitation, and found better results.

Looks like an agitation problem in the developer

Do you use hangers?
If so, and they have ever been in Photo-Flo, wash and scrub them well in very hot water. Following this never put them in Photo Flo again.
It builds up on the hangers and becomes a catalyst causing all kinds of problems along the edge of film.
A switch to LFN after cleaning the hangers will help.

First is a 35mm
Second is a 120.

I DOed for 10 mins, agitated 4 times only thoughout the development. though it becomes more apparent when on long exposures.

For roll film, I'd be agitating more often than that, looks like uneven development to me. 5 seconds with 3 or so tank inversion every 30 seconds would eliminate this.

What dilution are you using?

i guess my method of increasing time to decrease agitation didnt work.. want max shadow details without overblown highlights.

Could it also be because of the scanning
?
