:o
I think it is because I live in a small contry, with almost no analouge photographers left...
So people keep giving me stuff..
I have a full darkroom with 12 enlargers, so I am sort of good...
Then I have 2 Durst laborator 138 standing on hold.. storage.. + a laborator 1000 and 1200...
The today I was asked to come look at some (more) equipment, and look and behold:
Two more Laborator 138 s .... fully equiped...
I am fast running out of storage space...
what to do..

Since it's such a small country, just saw it off the rest of the continent and raft it over
here. We could always use more Durst and no sense shipping it piece by piece.

You could bring one Laborator with you next time you visit Prague :) There are not many of them round here.

Shipping containers aren't that expensive, but would be, I think, in the $10,000 range to move a container load across the Atlantic. Should we wait until a 40ft container can be filled? Should also be a less-than-load rate, too. We could also send someone over via tramp steamer and bring back one enlarger at a time in their cabin.
What's Ash been up to?

Hey - those things have some pretty big bellows. Just fill em with air and float em over.

So if I collected Gold Rim Dagors, would I get the reputation as a Golden Retriever?

No, I think you're more likely to be called a "gold diggor" :D
I need to show my wife the OP.....she thinks 2 Laborators is 2 too many !!

If my darkroom was big enough I'd love to take one of the 138's of your hands but the hight of it would require a hole in the roof. Maybe Vrå højskole should merge with e.g Gerlev højskole so they could have photocourses too.:D On a more serious side maybe if people interested in some of it donated an amount of money to the school for the equipment? Both the school, the equipment, the givers and the purchasers will benefit from such an arangement. in short sell the stuff if possible.
We have much place for it in Norway ;)

You've got good stuff!
Open a school---teach dark room---rent it out---or see if a local school can use it.
The more photographers who learn traditiona photograhy, the better the future for film.

John,
That is a very thoughtful advice. In addition to that he could also run workshop for LFs in EU by inviting US photographers.
Tautatis.
He already works at a school where does "all" his work :P And I think there's where the equipment already is.

Right Taulen.
John and Tautatis - Taulen has it right... and that's my "problem"..
As said, in Denmark SO few people are left with interest in film based photography..
so who to give it to?
BTW: you hereby have an open invitationto come visit!!
MDM: why would I say no? I can't stand the thought of these beasts to be thrown away, and that they would be, had I not accepted them...

Hmmm...perhaps what you need to do is somehow foster a large format "cult" in Denmark?

I have tons of free storage I can offer. Even would maintain the surplus equipment by starting them up every now and then - ;-)

You have a problem many of us envy. My problem is Durst rollpaper printers and Lucht printers.

I just bought a 138, but it will need a negative carrier when it arrives. Do you have a glass carrier you want to sell?
John,

Tautatis.
That would really be wonderful. I would love to attend.

To the OP: I meant to respond on the first day you posted this. My suggestion is keep acquiring them as long as they are free, I would keep two in upright condition and dismantle all the others unless you can find buyers quick enough. The parts will be worth far more than the complete pieces and will allow you more storage room. You could augment your photography with running a parts business. In some ways that is what I am doing now with Jobo processors. Understanding all the aspects of the enlargers by taking them apart will also prove valuable in selling and helping people put them together when they need a part.

Larry: Ill see - I might.. I have been thinking of dismanteling at least one for spare parts...
Greg: good suggestions.
BradS: as said before: You should me more than welcome!!
So if I collected Gold Rim Dagors, would I get the reputation as a Golden Retriever?
No, you get the reputation of "Worst Planetary Punner"
No, I think you're more likely to be called a "gold diggor" :D
Seconded so quickly.
I need to show my wife the OP.....she thinks 2 Laborators is 2 too many !!
Now that's just plain silly. You can never have too many Labrador Retrievers.
