I have a Caltar II-N 115mm (Rodenstock Grandagon-N?) that I have used occasionally with my 5X7. Covers fine but it is just a bit wide for my taste. I'm wondering if there is something out there in the 135mm range, that will cover 5X7 easily? Any suggestions?

A little longer than you want, but the 150 G Claron is an excellent wide angle for 5X7. And pretty inexpensive too.

There are no modern 135mm lenses which will cover 5x7. There are a few uncoated oldies or oddballs, but I think the 135/6.3 Wide Field Ektar is your best bet, but even this won't give you much movement, maybe 3/4" in any direction. Jumping down to 120mm (not really different from your 115mm) or up to 150mm will dramatically increase the candidates.

I use the 121 SA as my wide on 5x7, great lens with lots of movements, not badly priced either.

second the nod on the 121mm (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stormiticus/tags/121mm/) SA, now my favorite lens for 5x7

Fujinon W 135mm f5.6 (interior lettering)

Light, small, adequately bright, a bit of room for movements (228mm image circle). I use mine for 5x7 landscapes all of the time, it's roughly equivalent to a 90mm on 4x5. If you anticipate the need for more movements, I'd move to into the 120mm range instead. If you don't, it's a great little lens. They usually aren't too expensive either if you can locate one...they pop up on KEH from time to time.

Obscure and usually pricey, the f12 130mm Rodenstock Perigon, covers 8X10 so it would provide you with all the movements you need. The later versions were single-coated. The upside is that they're hilariously compact and will fit into a Copal O shutter.

Will a 135mm dagor cover? (not sure if they were made in this focal length)

It will just cover, but the corners may be a bit soft. There are WA Dagors as well, a 4 3/4 would be the one. A 120mm Angulon is nice too.
