Price at introduction was $41,990. I don't know whether it's come down any since then; possibly not, or not much, because it's a specialized device with various scientific as well as general pictorial applications, and no direct competitor.

A couple of months back Bear Photographic in Palo Alto had a great shot of a telescope at (if I recall correctly) Mt Wilson

Photo was extraordinarily good. I'll see if I can find the link to it. I asked them the price and was told it was around $40k. I believe it uses a Kodak sensor.

It's only $1000 per year for 40 years.

You can't afford NOT to get one of these.

But remember you need 2 of these, in case one of them fails during an important shoot.

So just bump that number up: 80 years :)

I think I can live for 200 years. So, I will buy 4.

I read this somewhere, If you want sharp images (and you have the money), you may have to filter out IR or UV because they focus differently. The sensor has a very wide spectral range range.
