Hello chaps,

Recently-ish moved to Sydney, Australia from New Zealand for a change of job and so having not used my Sinar for a short while, I'm wanting to get back into shooting with it. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a local source of film? I did find a Vision ImageLab online but almost choked when I saw the price of their sheet film (AUD$85 for ten sheets!). I realise I may have to import but in the meantime if anyone can recommend a source, that would be great. Looking for colour and b+w sheet film.

Cheers,

Welly

Welcome to Sydney Welly :) I'm looking to move from medium format to a Sinar or Horseman-based LF setup, so I know what you're going through. Vision Image Lab have been great for processing, but their film prices are a tad exorbitant. I'm currently ordering B&W from Maco in Germany, and have used B&H in the past. Vanbar is a great supplier, but you'll find that the prices are just as unrealistic as Vision.

Cheers Steve,

Les Porter is a bit more reasonable for the Ilford film so I'm probably going to pick up a box or two of that. Again, pretty scary for their colour film! I guess an order from the US or a request for film on this forum is in order!

Yeah, their processing costs seem reasonable (cheaper than in NZ anyway!) so I'll probably be going to them for colour development and will be developing b+w at home as I do.

Cheers!

Subscribe to the Australia forum over at APUG Welly and keep your eyes peeled for group purchases that happen from time to time (usually from Freestyle or sometimes B+H or Badger). That way we share the shipping.
