What is a fair price for a working and well worked Beseler 45M with the condenser head? Thanks.

Not very much, I'm afraid. Shipping charges might exceed the value. I think you would be doing well to get $100 dollars for it as local pickup.

I bought a low miles, CB-7 with lots of goodies, including a nice lens for $125 about a year ago. The CB7 is the rare fancy model of the 45M. I gave away the low miles 45M I had to a good friend of mine.

There was a 4x5 Omega enlarger and complete darkroom kit for sale on Craigslist nearby for $100. I don't think that ever sold.

These are all great enlargers, but there is big supply and low demand.

45M w/aristo cold light @ ~ $100. couple of years ago.
See them on Chicago CL with folks asking close to $1k. And see them for weeks then months etc.

It's going to cost several times more to ship it to Colombia than the $$ you pay for it. If it's local to you consider a premium price against what it would cost to buy plus shipping. It could still be a decent price if it exceeds what you see here.

I bought my MX for 75 bucks about 10 years ago. You can barely give em away now, but if you're selling I'd hang on to it for the Great Film Comeback. If you're buying, don't pay more than a hundred cuz the Great Film Comeback might not be for a while. :-)

I brought an almost new 45M with the Dichro 45S color head and a box full of carriers earlier this year for around $125.

I gave away one Beseler 4x5, and trashed my Dejur 4x5. Hard to give them away these days. Still have a beseler 23c with color head in my attic, any takers?

With the condenser head they are often on Craigslist in the $100 - $150 range, asking price.

I bought an older 45MCRX for $175 several years ago. The selling points were 3 negative carriers, 3 Rodenstock lenses and new bellows. Also included were a full set of Ilford VC filters and 2 boxes of fresh paper in 8x10 & 11x14. A pretty good deal. I suspect that even better deals can be found now.

I'm a 2 1/4 guy just getting into 4x5. I have a Beseler 45 enlarger, looking for a used Ilford 500 Multigrade head - anybody got one or know where I might find one? Nothing on eBay today. Thanks - and this is my very first post as well! :)

Do yourself a favor, and get the Beseler 45V-XL instead. Much easier to align, and hold alignment. They can be had on eBay inexpensively, although for more money that the 45MXT, etc.

I've owned 2 MXT's, and got rid of them for a 45V-XL, and NEVER looked back.

Paid $5 for mine, locally, 3 years ago. Came with 50-100-150 Schneider lenses mounted on the funny boards that light up the aperture settings. Check Freecycle, Craigslist, etc; people are often willing to donate these if they're going to someone who will put them to good use, rather than just selling them on the 'bay.

Agreed re: 45-VXL. Much better enlarger.

Saw a 45m discarded on the street last year from a school that was closing its darkroom. (Black one, not blue one). Took head and condensors, couldn't help myself.
This is why I have no closet space.

I need some help with my Beseler 45M. The scale on my enlarger for adjusting the height of the condenser for different negative sizes is missing. If you still have the scale on your Beseler could you tell me the distance between neg stage and condense for the following formats: 35mm, 6x6 and 4x5. I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks,

from the lower screw that hold the marker
1" = 4x5
3 3/16" = 2 1/4 x 3 1/4
4 3/16" = 2 1/4 x 2 1/4
5 3/4" = 35mm
