Do you know about this lens? it shows the maximum aperture at 4.6 which is very light but i do not think the aperture can be open wide like this at this focal length.

much appreciated you information!

Lovely lens, never heard of it before. A bit strange though:

Doppel-Anastigmat are usually fairly wide-angle coverage BUT this only stops down to f/9 ?

Could be an aero-lens BUT does not have a gear drive aperture ring.

Should cover 14x17 like Goerz Dogmar 500 f/4.5.

Would be a great portrait lens for 8x10 or 11x14.

Have fun with it, post some pics with it. :D

Methinks I have seen this lens in an Austrian Auction recently!
I think when you get it, you will be surprised about its size.
I could only think it being a competitor to the Voigtländer Heliar when I found this in the listing.
I found no real data when I did a search.
Logic says it must meet the demands of Portrait photographers at the period it was sold - so expect at least Heliar type glow.

I believe that Doppel Anastigmat meant two cells each being corrected for astigmatism. so this would do away with the Heliar construction as it is a Anastigmat and not Doppel- Anastigmat .

According to Thiele, it's a triplet. Angle of coverage 50-60 or so, depending on size, max aperture and age of documentation. ;)

50cm f:4.6 - yes, that's a big thing, 11cm wide or so.
