It's dark and snowing out, the cupboard is bare, so please entertain me with your anecdotes.

Frank,
I have a glass of South African Obikwa Shiraz which might help you make it through the night. Unfortunately, at $7.99 a bottle I can't aford to share. :)

No Peant Butter or Cheese?
When its too dark or overcast to produce pictures outdoors, there is always the studio or darkroom. Being hungry sucks but I cook most of my own meals from scratch, and try to stock pile ingredients in the warmer or less cold months. I like going out in the snow once its stops, to photograph. This winter is going to be different though as I will have a new TIG welder, due today.... to build some of the projects swiming inside my mind. I probably won't be spending quite so much time on the forum...computers and TV get to be wastes of time. I never watch TV.
Maybe we should make a board game similar to this (http://www.kjkoster.org/wsim/) to help entertain on cold winter nights. But call it "Wooden Cameras & Iron Men".
