linotype flatbed

So what's the shared wisdom on these? Got an offer for a chromagraph flatbed unit with a resolution of 8000 dpi and it seems to have a good workflow, but I guess that's interpolated reso rather than optical. But anything faster than the old imacon I'm using now seems like a good deal.

Anybody got any leads? Google is great for a lot of things. Old prepress stuff aint one of them.

There are a number of different flatbed and drum scanners carrying the Heidelberg or Linotype-Hell nameplate. If you will kindly contact me off-forum with the model number, I would be happy to tell you something about it.
