I have a Wista SP....I'm looking for a telephoto lens - 400mm-600mm...what are my options? I have an opportunity to purchase a Fujinon 400T - will that be fine with my normal bellows....I do very detailed sections of landscapes at about 300-400yards distance...thanks

Hi,

I checked online and the flange to film distance is listed as 260mm.

I set my Sinar up with the Fujinon 400T and measured it...sure enough, 260mm. Your normal bellows should be adequate.

I used one on a Tachihara field Camera with no problem for several years. It's a great lens. Not tons of coverage, but as long as that's not an issue, it's quite nice and gives you a long reach. Here's a sample image (http://www.kenleegallery.com/html/tech/wfall.html).

Look up the tech specs and see what the bellows draw is.

Bellows draw is immaterial. Extension beds and bellows for an SP are available for up to 800mm. The limitation is the size of the rear group and will it fit the hole in the front standard.

Rear element is only 54mm in diameter. Shouldn't present any problem.

I use exactly that camera with exactly that lens a lot, with no problems. I use it for long landscapes, but also a lot of what I would call "midscapes" - things maybe 100 feet away or even less.

That is with no special accessories.

It will work.
