Does anyone know where I might procure a human skeleton for use as a prop? It's a bit of an odd request, make no bones about it. (You can blame that one on Raymond, my dear departed friend from Inner Sanctum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_Sanctum_Mysteries)). True, there are lots of skeletons here where I live. But it's somewhat of an ethical dilemma as they're currently in use. And as for mine.... Well, I'm rather "attached" to it. But surely there must be reasonable replicas available? Or maybe a medical school somewhere? Or a relative, perhaps? Seriously, what does one do for odd props?

Pleasant dreams, hmmmmm?...

Lots of options at Carolina Biological (http://www.carolina.com/category/life+science/anatomical+models+and+skeletons/human+skeleton+models.do)...

Have you contacted any prop houses? Especially in LA, NYC, SF, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston.

Look around at estate sales if you really want an actual human skeleton. I remember my dad looking at one at an auction when I was a kid - he decided to pass as the skeleton was from the 1890s and a bit moldy. If you want a replica, try American Science & Surplus - Anatomical Models (http://www.sciplus.com/category.cfm/category/25). I think they've got the same model as Carolina, but cheaper - model 88824 LIFESIZE SKELETON, about 4 items down on the page. The first one is only 33" tall.

Don't make a grave mistake.

No, I haven't contacted any prop houses. The logistics of living in my corner of the Atlantic make rentals pretty difficult. But it's a good idea; I'll have a look around.

Wow! Carolina Bio and American Science & Surplus (ASS?) do have some options. I'll have to dig around and see what I can unearth... Come Igor!!

Slip the local High School science a box of Krispy Kremes and I'll bet he'll let you borrow ol' Red for a few hours ;)
