Pulling 2 stops with hp5 + pmk

Accidentally rated HP5 at 100 yesterday. Normal Dev time is 12:30.

A search didn't result in any info. So, does anyone have a thought on pulling 2 stops?

I'm thinking 9'00" as a starting point.

Many people (me being one) rate HP5 at 200. After having used it for a long time, I'm not a huge fan of it, partly because I've found it to be a bit slower than advertised.

Anyway, I think you can think of yourself as being just 1 stop over box speed, to start with. Were you shooting something contrasty?

yeah contrasty and longer exposures (5+ min)

i guess my brain was dead yesterday.

so maybe 10'30" development.

Here is an approach I recently used myself for some FP4 negatives that received two stops of overexposure - I didn't have a choice at f6 using a Verito outdoors even with an overcast sky. Mix up a batch of ABC pyro, not PMK. The ABC formula results in the loss of a full stop of film speed for most films. There is no metol in the formula - only pyrogallol which does not support shadows, hence the loss in film speed. Traditional time/temp for ABC is 1:1:1:7 for 7 minutes at 68F. Try a 1:1:1:13 dilution for 7 minutes at 72F which should compenate for another stop of overexposure - tray development, constant shuffling of negatives, bottom-to-top. It has worked well for me.

Wow, thanks Bob!

As soon as I'm out of PMK I'm on to try ABC.
FWIW, Visual inspection tells me that 10 is better but we'll see how they scan and print.

N-2 in PMK/edta @ I/2/100 @ ISO 125 = 5.45min with continuous agitation in BTZS tubes.

Put your HP5+ rated at 100 in HC110 Dilution B for 5 minutes at 68F. Agitate for the first 30 seconds, and then for 5 secs. every 30 secs. You'll love it.
