One of my favorite photographers is Steve Mccurry. Phaidon Press has a youtube channel with a couple new vids of him giving tips. He is a great portrait photographer and these tips are useful to keep in mind regardless of the format we are using.

Personally,

I find Mr. McCurry more "influental" as a photographer than any other person I can think of. Just shows that big(ger) cameras don't necessarily make better photographs!
