Hey,

Will any other 5x7 --> 4x5 reducing back work on the camera other than the Canham?

If so, which one(s)?

Thanks

Not that I know of, not without modification.

NO.

Only a genuine metal Canham 4x5 back will fit the MQC57.

There is an additional adapter plate for 5x7 > 4x5 so that it can utilize the same back as the DLC45.

The complete reducing back assembly retails for $590.

Gem,

Does the adapter plate achieve the same minimum flange to film distance for the MQC using it as you would have with the DLC?

Did you get it directly from Keith Canham?

Thank you,
Jeff Keller

Hi Jeff,

Yes it does. The adapter plate, with the 4x5 back installed, places the 4x5 reducing back in the same position as the 5x7 back on the MQC. It does not change the flange to film distance. The DLC does not need the adapter plate.

Keith canham does not sell directly to customers. I purchase new Canham accessories from Fred Newman, at the View Camera Store or Jim, at Midwest Photo Exchange.
