Hi,

I need your help:
I'm trying to make negatives for kallitype process.

Thought about using Kodak TMY-2 or Fomapan 400 both in 8x10 format.
I would be happy to use the Fomapan 400.
Here in Germany TMY-2 costs ~ €6,5 , Fomapan 400 ~ €2,10 a single 8x10 sheet,
importing TMY-2 makes not much difference after shipping, duties and import VAT is added, even if I order 10-20 boxes.

For the development I'd use a Jobo CPA 2 and 3005 drum, development in trays
would be different cause I have not enough space for it.
For exposure measuring I've a Pentax V spotmeter.

I would be very thankful for tips about the usability of the films
and the steps from exposure to the negative in the desired density range
(I read about a density range of 1,8 )

Thanks Andi

... I think Fomapan 400 has been discontinued. Too bad, I liked it a lot, especially in 8x10 for alt processes!

Seems like my local foma "pusher" has Fomapan 400 in 8x10 (I have a opened box in my fridge), and he ships abroad. Have a look at
http://www.fomafoto.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=35&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

All my foma orders goes here, and Slavomir provides excellent service! As its close to home I can drive by in a 45 min drive to pick up after hours, or if not its in the mail the day after.

Best regards
Morten

Hi Morten,

did you have issues with developing? It was said that a
wrong stop bath can cause holes in the emulsion.
